Privacy & Data Handling

Uploaded audio files and generated transcripts are stored locally on the server for the duration of your use. Conversation data (transcripts, metrics, observations, and insights) is stored in a local SQLite database.

No data is replicated to external storage systems. Your conversations remain on the server where Attune is deployed.

You can delete any conversation at any time from the dashboard. Deletion removes the audio file, transcript, all computed metrics, detected observations, and generated insights permanently.

Deleted data cannot be recovered. Deletion is immediate and complete.

Attune uses two external services to process your audio:

• Deepgram — for speech-to-text transcription and speaker diarization. Audio is sent to Deepgram's API for processing. Deepgram does not retain audio data after processing is complete per their data processing agreement.
• OpenAI (GPT-4.1) — for generating grounded insights and, when needed, speaker re-segmentation. Transcript excerpts and detected observations are sent to OpenAI's API. Per OpenAI's API data usage policy, API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models.

No other third-party services receive your data.

Your conversation data is never used to train AI models. Both Deepgram and OpenAI's API terms explicitly state that API customer data is not used for model training.

Attune itself does not perform any model fine-tuning or training on user data.

Users are responsible for obtaining appropriate consent from all participants before recording and uploading conversations for analysis. This is especially important when conversations involve minors (tweens/teens).

We recommend informing all conversation participants that:

• The conversation will be recorded
• The recording will be processed by AI services for communication analysis
• The analysis is intended to help improve communication patterns
• The recording and all derived data can be permanently deleted at any time
