Privacy & Data Handling

Uploaded audio files and generated transcripts are stored locally on the server for the duration of your use. Conversation data (transcripts, metrics, observations, and insights) is stored in a local SQLite database.

No data is replicated to external storage systems. Your conversations remain on the server where Attune is deployed.

You can delete any conversation at any time from the dashboard. Deletion removes the audio file, transcript, all computed metrics, detected observations, and generated insights permanently.

Deleted data cannot be recovered. Deletion is immediate and complete.

Attune uses one external service, OpenAI, to process your recording:

• OpenAI transcription — your audio is sent to OpenAI's speech-to-text API to be transcribed and to tell the two speakers apart. Recordings over 20 minutes are split into shorter pieces first.
• OpenAI language models — the transcript, the numbers we compute from it and the patterns we detect are sent to OpenAI's API to detect communication patterns, write the insights and run an independent quality check on them. Per OpenAI's API data usage policy, API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models.

No other third-party services receive your data.

Your conversation data is never used to train AI models. OpenAI's API terms explicitly state that API customer data is not used for model training.

Attune itself does not perform any model fine-tuning or training on user data.

Users are responsible for obtaining appropriate consent from all participants before recording and uploading conversations for analysis. This is especially important when conversations involve minors (tweens/teens).

We recommend informing all conversation participants that:

• The conversation will be recorded
• The recording will be processed by AI services for communication analysis
• The analysis is intended to help improve communication patterns
• The recording and all derived data can be permanently deleted at any time
